What we do

Six specialties, one crew, and honest answers about what your property actually needs.

Fire safety, not just air quality

Clogged dryer vents are one of the leading causes of house fires.

Every year, thousands of home fires start in the laundry room. Lint is extremely flammable, and when it packs into the vent line the dryer overheats and a single spark or heating element can set it off. This is not only about the air your family breathes. It is about protecting the house itself.

Dryer vent cleaning

Even brand new homes are at risk

  • Most new construction is not designed to prevent dryer exhaust backup. Builders route vents through long runs, multiple bends, attic spaces and rooftops that trap lint fast.
  • Second-floor laundry rooms often mean 15 to 25 feet of vent line, far beyond what a dryer can push air through cleanly.
  • Drywall dust and construction debris left in the line can restrict a vent in a new home before the first load of laundry.
  • Vents should be professionally cleaned before you move into a new build, and every one to two years after that.

Lint buildup blocks airflow, forces the dryer to overheat, and can ignite without warning.

We've been doing business with Prism for about 4 years and the service has been excellent. The owner, Mark Tomblin, is always very professional and we appreciate his knowledge of what he does. We have referred at least 5 other of our neighbors to Prism Enterprises and they have all been pleased with their service.

I received a call at 4:30 in the afternoon from them. Appointment set up for next day between 8 and 8:30. They arrived at 8:30 and completed the job. My new dryer was not drying clothes. They cleaned the vents and it is great.

Common questions

A few of the questions we hear most. The full list lives on our FAQ page.

How often should air ducts be cleaned?+

Most homes do well on a 2 to 3 year cycle. Clean them sooner after renovation work, after moving into a home (even a brand new one), or if anyone in the home has allergies or asthma.

Do brand new homes need duct cleaning?+

Yes. Construction dust, drywall powder, sawdust and debris settle in the duct work while the home is being built. We strongly recommend cleaning the ducts before you move into a new home.

What are the signs my ducts need cleaning?+

Dust building up around vents shortly after cleaning, musty smells when the system runs, uneven airflow between rooms, and worsening allergies indoors are all common signs.

How long does a duct cleaning take?+

A typical single-family home takes 2 to 4 hours depending on the size of the home, the number of vents, and how much buildup is in the system.
